De Vere Tortworth Court, Gloucestershire Wedding Photographer
Sunshine, gorgeous couple, incredible venue and some crazy swirly fairy lights. What a treat!
I had only met Sarah and Ayman through Zoom before the wedding, but I was pleased to find that they were not only actual three-dimensioned people, but them and their families and friends were lovely, kind people too. That’s my couples all over, and I love it!
Their wedding was at the grand and rather beautiful Tortworth Court, which made for a great backdrop to the day.
Ayman and family are from Sudan and Sarah’s family are from Trinidad & Tobago, and now they all make a family where laughter, love and (I now realise) dancing are all high on the agenda.
As nights get earlier, us photographers have less time with natural light before we start using flash. It’s well known that I love using flash at these times, not only to continue taking beautifully atmospheric shots late into the day, long after the sun has disappeared, but also to really get creative and get shots impossible with natural light alone. I even run a training course on this stuff for professional photographers called Flash Photography Master, if you’re a photographer and interested, then please get in touch.
Of course, natural light is also really important to me. A shot of Sarah taken with window light is an example of how I like to use natural light. Subtle but powerful when done right and all shamelessly stolen from the Dutch Masters - this one having a particularly strong nod to Vermeer’s “Girl with the pearl earring”.
The wedding has not been edited yet, but as I always do, I provide a preview, so here it is. Enjoy…
