Ellenborough Park, Cheltenham Wedding Photography: Hannah & Jon

Full Disclosure: After a number of meetings. long facebook conversations and working with them all day at Ellenborough Park in Cheltenham, I love Hannah and Jon. So I would paint this wedding to be totally amazing even if it was awful. It wasn't awful, it was beautiful, classy, stylish, relaxed and brim-ful of warmth and love. But then I would say that, so it's all meaningless :-)

Hannah and Jon had chosen brilliantly with the styling of the event. The stunning Allen dress from Sottero & Midgely gave a a flavour of 1950s Hollywood, as did the tuxedos, very well modelled by Jon and the rest of the men. Hannah's hair was by Matthew Curtis Hair, with Make-Up by Holly Power and both were simply 'flawless'!

We captured some lovely shots of Hannah, her Bridesmaid Heidi and the children. As became a theme through the day, while it was buzzing with activity, it was calm, warm and we were made to feel part of the family which was lovely.

While Hannah got into her amazing dress, Jon and the crew assembled in the chapel that forms part of the venue. My film-maker for the day was Ethan Church (yes, also Son #1) and I could tell that he was getting some amazing footage of the day, watch this space for the film... Despite a slightly twitchy registrar that ask me to stop taking photos, I still got a few cheeky ones during the ceremony - I like a challenge!

The day then rolled into a wonderful flowing occasion with so much to capture. The string quartet in the bar area were providing a lovely backdrop to the day, and insanely good magician Richard Parsons entertained the crowd.

I had worked with Hannah and Jon over the previous few months to get a really good idea of the sort of pictures I knew they wanted. They did not want lots of formal group shots, and were much happier with informal shots of them all interacting as new family unit - they were all so close and connected, and I ensured this came across in the photos.

Something I wanted to secretly get was a very classic, timeless shot of Jon and Hannah. I had been playing with the idea of a photo that could be from any decade over the last 90 years, do you think I achieved it?

We then had a great set performed by a surprise Singing Waiter. Random ballroom dancing throughout the wedding breakfast room, and we all had a blast messing about with a group shot in the venue's library.

There were so many shots that I loved from this day, but here is a selection. It was with genuine sadness that I packed up to travel back down the M5 - as you can tell in the final picture!
